Mike served as the Libertarian Party’s candidate for vice presidential in 2024 and campaigned for the LP’s presidential nomination from 2022 to 2024 on a platform centered on boosting the money families earn and retain. Mike’s first career included working with banks as a commercial loan officer, with the White House Office of Management and Budget as a financial economist, and with other federal and international agencies as a consulting economist. From 1992 through 2002, Mike was an advocate in Washington for free markets and greater competition in the financial services industry. In 2002, he founded a professional education and strategic consulting business, which he successfully ran until 2009. In his second career, Mike served as a police officer in Broward County, Florida, from 2010 to 2021, including five years as a training officer. Mike has taught economics at three universities, substituted at dozens of public schools, and traveled through thirty-five countries. He has a wife, two kids and two stepdaughters, two dogs and one truck, a BS in Aeronautical Engineering and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and MS and PhD degrees in Economics from The George Washington University.
