Maria Santos Bier is the director of foundation and corporate relations at the Cato Institute. She joined Cato in 2015 as a staff writer for David Boaz. She previously worked as a journalist, and has published articles in the Washington Post, Weekly Standard, and elsewhere. She received a Bachelor of Arts in liberal arts from Thomas Aquinas College.
