Juan Carlos Maldonado, a 35-year-old Ecuadorian, holds a BA in Political Science and is currently pursuing an MPA at Universidad Casa Grande in Ecuador. With extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, he has served as Chief Communications Officer at the Instituto Ecuatoriano de Economía Política (IEEP), Project Manager and Faculty member at FEE and FEE en Español, and Educational Coordinator for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a Local Coordinator for EsLib in 2013 and 2014, Juan Carlos played a key role in expanding the organization’s influence on the ground. Inspired by liberty-minded thinkers such as Frédéric Bastiat, Friedrich Hayek, Ezra Taft Benson, Thomas Sowell, and Ayn Rand, Juan Carlos believes that “Students For Liberty is the best place to think about freedom, and the new ways to promote it and defend it around the world.”
