Sophia Coyne-Kosnak

Sophia Coyne-Kosnak is the Program Director for Initiatives at the Cato Institute. She is thrilled to lead the revival of Cato University, Cato’s premier academic conference series for college and graduate students. Cato’s principled and consistent classical liberal perspective is one that resonates with many students, and Cato University aims to brings that message to a wider audience. As a member of the Sphere Education Initiatives team at Cato, Sophia also contributes to programs and content which promote civil discourse and civic education across disciplines. Previously, Sophia worked on Cato’s development team as the special events manager and has contributed to many Cato events such as the 2024 conference “The Rebirth of Liberty in Argentina and Beyond,” which was headlined by Javier Milei and Elon Musk. Sophia holds a BA in history from Hillsdale College and an MA in art history from the University of Chicago.
